Blogs in Oracle

Enterprise 2.0 is widely used in different organizations all over the world. These organizations use a lot of social technology tools to help them to run their business, such as Facebook, Twitter and Google+. How does the IT professional service sector use social technology to help them? Today, I will introduce how Oracle uses blogs to enhance their business.

Firstly, let me briefly introduce Oracle. Oracle is an international database software company, and it becomes the second most income software company in 2013, which is just after Microsoft. The main products of Oracle are servers and applications. It is easy to find the Oracle enterprise blog homepage. From the McKinsey global report, I will discuss how blog enhances Oracle business from two value levers.

Customer service – Provides customer care via social technologies

Oracle provides plenty of applications. Some applications are used for enterprise managements, and some applications are used for software developments. Some clients may focus application setting and using skills. Because of these reasons, a lot of technical supporting blogs are posted in Oracle blog center. There are very detailed steps to guide clients how to solve the issues or get more using skills. Blog is a good way for Oracle to provide customer care. I believe that there must be a blog, which is related to your issues or interesting.

Business support – Improve collaboration and communication

The blogs are not only from the Oracle employees, but also come from the customers who have a great insight into the using experience or facing issues with Oracle products. Blog provides a great platform between clients and Oracle. Nowadays, the traditional communication method hasn’t satisfied the customers’ requiems. At this time, blog is a good way to solve the problem. Oracle employees and clients can have a good collaborate to improve Oracle products through blog discussions. What’s more, customers can have a good communication with Oracle directly. It also will improve Oracle service quality.

Oracle doesn’t only use blog, but also it uses a lot of different kinds of social media. All of them make a great contribution to Oracle business development. In different business areas, the social technology plays an important role in company developing.

JB Hi-Fi with Social Technology

Nowadays, there are plenty of organizations using social technology. Social technology brings many benefits, especially to retail companies. I have learned some example of cases about the organizations, which use Social technology successfully in McKinsey report. Now, I have some ideas about how companies to bring benefits in market and sale value levers with social technology. This week I will introduce how JB Hi-Fi to bring benefits in market and sale value levers with Social technology. Firstly, let me introduce JB Hi-Fi. JB Hi-Fi is an Australian CD, DVD, Blu-ray Disc, video game and consumer electronics chain store. We can find many JB Hi-Fi stores in Brisbane.

There are many benefits from the retail business, so cut-throat competition is between retail companies. The traditional marketing, store by store, cannot satisfy the marketing requirement. The competition moves from the real world to online. However, JB Hi-Fi uses the social technology to achieve a big advantage than other competitive companies.

A good way for marketing communication

JB Hi-Fi uses twitter to promote marketing and sales. Because of that reasons, customers don’t only get the product information, but also they can contact with JB Hi-Fi directly. The communication between customers and JB Hi-Fi becomes much more convenient and highly-efficient. JB Hi-Fi can get much more information about consume habits from customers, and learn more information about the degree of product satisfaction. Twitter provides a great platform between customers and JB Hi-Fi for communication.

A good way for sales leading

With the development of technology, fewer and fewer people would like to use the traditional media to get information, such as TV. Meanwhile, people would like to get the information online. Compared with watching TV, people much more like to watch videos and get information on the internet.  YouTube is a hot website, and millions of people watch videos on it. JB Hi-Fi realizes the customers’ getting information method habits changes, so JB Hi-Fi post many advertisements on YouTube. For example, JB Hi-Fi post some new product advertisements on YouTube. Do you have the impulsion to purchase, after you watch the advertisements on YouTube? If your answers are Yes, that it achieves the JB Hi-Fi’s goals. The economical advertisements induce customer to buy the product, which is shows on YouTube. What’s more, Customers trust and would like to use the product.

A good way for learning about the customers

With the development of technology, the internet marketing is expanding rapidly. Except the social tools, which I have mentioned, I have to talk about JB Hi-Fi using Facebook to promote marketing and sales. JB Hi-Fi posts the discount products’ or new products’ clear pictures or videos on its Facebook. There are many comments and supports under the post. JB Hi-Fi can much better to learn about the customers’ preference and make accurate marketing strategies in the future. Facebook helps JB Hi-Fi make more benefits on the internet.

Overall, JB Hi-Fi has a good using of social technology to promote marketing and it has a good performance in sales value level with Enterprise 2.0.

Social Technology Beginners

With the development of technology, the traditional communication is meeting with a big revolution. The traditional communication methods, such as, talking face to face and writing letters between long distance are instead of other communication methods. At this time, people would like to send messages, emails or use other applications to deliver information. Most of the time, just delivering information can not satisfy human beings’ requirements. People would like to share the information, meanwhile they would like to get or search more information from the others. The social tools make a great contribution to information and resource share. Today, I just introduce three kinds of social tools, such as Twitter, YouTube and Pinterest.

#1 Twitter

I haven’t posted any blogs before I chose this unit. But I have learned many social technology skills during the last three weeks. In this week, I signed up my own twitter account, and I have no experience about using twitter. With the time of using it, I found that it is really a useful and important tool for the social technology beginner. I can post comments every day, and share my life with my friends. I can also follow anything, which I am interested in, such as my friends, some famous people or my favourite brands. Here, I have to mention that I can find my favourite juice brand boost on twitter. There is a lot of related information or news, which is posted on it. I believe that it must promote Boost marketing and attract much more customers. I also can share my blog to my twitter, which will help me to obtain much more readerships and I also can get more comments. Meanwhile, I will search the related topics by twitter to help me further research.

#2 YouTube

YouTube is really an amazing social media. We can post the videos, which are made by ourselves.  We also can make some vblogs, which just like some friends have mentioned. However, the most attractive part for me about YouTube is that it is a learning tool. For example, I didn't know how to build a blog last week. I just need to enter the question. Thousands of results will be shown in 1 second. So I can follow the video, and solve my problems step by step. Comments are allowed to post under each video. It helps me to better understanding about the video content. Now, YouTube sometimes becomes my second class, which helps me to learn and share resources.

#3 Pinterest

I also find a very interesting social tool, and it has a lot of resources. I haven’t used it before this semester. Here, I share a video to introduce printerest. In the second video, James Hickey helps us to introduce how to use Pinterest for business. Hope you like it.

Pinterset can help me send messages to my friends. The function is similar to Facebook. What’s more, I can use it to make plan projects, swap ideas and share my best discoveries. Here, I show my Pinterset, and I also share my new blog to Pinterset. I haven't used it for a long time, so there are not a lot of contents on mine. However, I believe that it will have abundant contents in my Pinterset after this semester. I will use it to assist me to get and share much more information and knowledge about social (Web2.0) tools and enterprise2.0.

PS: Thank you for John Morrison’s suggestions. So I can  make some further explanations about Pinterset in my life.Welcome to discuss and comments. Thank you !

How to create a success blog

Hello everyone, we start to build our blog after two weeks of lectures. I will talk about three aspects in my first blog, such as building blogs’ purpose, creating useful posts, and obtaining readerships.

The purpose of creating this blog is to share the knowledge and information, which I have learned from the field of Web2.0 and Enterprise 2.0 in INN(B)346. It will include some components and my personal opinions and insights about some excellent blogs, which relate to this unit learning area. What’s more, I will also share some technical solutions, which I have learned from Enterprise 2.0. In addition, I would like to introduce my blog, which discusses my understanding about Enterprise 2.0 with readers, and at the same time I also will give some comments to the others’ blogs.

In my mind, creating useful posts is not easy work. We should do a lot of searching, and provide the accurate and various kinds of information for readers. Even though I am not an expert on Enterprise 2.0, I must ensure that the information from my blog is accurate. Also, the hot topic about Web 2.0 and Enterprise 2.0 should be discussed in my blog, so that it will attract more people participating in the conversation, and help them to solve the problems.

To obtain the readers, the first strategy that appears in my mind is giving comments to our classmates’ posts, and getting the cooperation between classmates. It is obviously not an effective method for obtaining readerships. Therefore, I have done some further research for obtaining much more readers. I have obtained a good post from Darren Rowse. The name of the post is 19(More) Strategies for Finding Readers. I learnt some strategies about the obtaining readership. First of all, it is true that blogging for beginners who need the time to extend the readers’ group and a good content will attracts many readers. Moreover, joining in the others’ conversation is much better than just comments. The meaningless comments should be avoided, such as just a ‘hi’. Meaningless comments can’t help the bloggers to increase the reputation, and some bloggers probably delete these kinds of comments. What’s more, we also can links others blogs. This is a great way to obtain readerships. Because of participation in the conversation between the different link blogs, you will get the readers’ attention, and then you can obtain much more readers.

Thank you for your reading! I have no experience in building a blog, there may be some problems. Welcome to discuss and give any advice about my blog.
See you on Wednesday!
